ACD meeting this wednesday

how to be an artist

The one thing we get a lot when we talk to interested students about ACD is
"I'm not really an artist." or "I cant draw."
well first we would like to calm your nerves by saying Art is not like your other subjects in school.
ACD tries to provide an environment for you to be comfortable and our slogan used to be "Bringing out the inner artist in you." but we took it off because it was kinda corny. but corny or not it does sum up what we try to do in ACD.
Art is an expression of yourself and no one can say whether you are good at being yourself or not.
And some people merely do art as a release for stress.
but in the end, there's really no concrete definition for art.
but we do understand that in this American teaching of ours, some students just learn better with a little more guidelines so here's so things we found online for you guys. Its suppose to be more humorous than anything but has some good points.
and of course we look up everything now on wikipedia...

so if youre having trouble with getting started in art, our advice is just to google it
most of the time, your answers are there
and the best award is self teaching yourself
you need not take expensive art classes.

and we wish you luck
and encourage you to come and join us in our events whether or not you think you're an artist.... or not. ^__^

Involvement Fair

Hello all

welcome back

and to the new prospective members

to the ACD website.

I know it's been a long time since we have any activity in ACD

I like to thank everyone who came out to show your support for ACD at the Involvement Fair

hosted by Student Life.

We had a blast 

and got a good amount of interested new students

Our first meeting will probably be around next week

sometime on wednesday

so free your calendar

I know that our times might conflict with some of your plans but we can talk

more about that at the meeting. But wednesday seems to be the ideal night since it's not too late in the week and not too early.

Bring your ideas and questions to the meeting

because we will be needing a lot of it

and invite your friends and random people because we need new members to make this 

club thrive.

So thank you all
